My Fair for Everyone Advertising Policy

I make my money via this website through online advertising & referral commissions (Affiliate Marketing) – which makes this site free for you to use. I’m not trying to pull a fast one or rip you off, but I do need to pay all of the expenses necessary to maintain this website and like every business, hopefully make a profit doing so.

The policy below is my advertising policy, which I believe I’ve adopted in a manner that works best for me and for you. If you have any questions, please contact me.

1. I will not sell your personal details onto a third party – Advertisers on my site may have access to your behaviour via Cookies, but not your data. See my Privacy Policy for more information on how I use Cookies and manage personal information obtained via this website.

I reserve the right to place Ads based on where I believe they will perform best – if a page happens to discuss a certain topic or is based on a certain location/region Ads specific to the topic and or location/region will be considered first for placement. Where Ad-Spots are not taken up, I reserve the right to make use of 3rd party Ad Networks to populate these space until suitable advertisers are found.

3. This website uses Behavioural Targeting (or Retargeting), but it will not use Behavioural Targeting unreasonably and it complies with all regulations regarding same. If, for example, you go to a site about ‘crypto currencies‘ my and 3rd party tracking tools we will assume you are interested in ‘crypto currencies‘ and promotional items regarding ‘crypto currencies‘ may be shown to you. It’s not a sinister action, it just makes sense to show you what you have shown interest in; you are under no obligation to take action or purchase anything unless it’s your desired action.

4. While I try to scrutinise and manually approve all ads, I may run more ads than it is reasonable to keep track of. If you have a complaint about an ad for any reason, please contact me and let me know and I will do what I can to update/move or remove the offending Ad. – it’s not in my best interests to displease our users*

5. I do not allow auto-initiated sound – this means that ads are not allowed to have the sound switched on or the video playing with audio on when the page loads. If you see an ad which does this, please let me know and I will rectify this as soon as possible*

6. I do not allow ads which make you download anything (especially malware/viruses!), or which break the site in anyway. I do allow for ads that direct you to bridging pages with the intention of redirecting you to other pages as this is a normal business practice in the ‘make money online’ and ‘affiliate marketing’ niches. However, if you see an ad which does this, in a dishonest or distrusting manner, please let me know and I will investigate and take the necessary action by getting the Ad updated, disabled or removed as soon as possible*

7. For Advertisers: Pricing is currently fixed for Banner Ads at a Rate of R50 p/month on inner pages and R95 p/month on our Home Page. Fees are payable for the month/year in advance and exclude the cost of banner design, if needed. Once payment is received, your banner will be placed in the next available spot, subject to the location and/or topic of the page. Specific Ad locations may be requested, but final placement is at my discretion. Ad view tracking and click-through tracking is currently unavailable, but may be introduced at a later date. My flat monthly rate runs from the 1st of the month, until midnight on the last day of the month. My discounted annual rate runs for a full 365-day period, starting on the day your Ad is published and ending at midnight on the 365th Day. At my discretion I may upload ads earlier than the start date and/or delete them after the expiry date; please note no refunds are given once a monthly advert is booked and published because my rates are so low all income is utilised to cover administrative costs of placing your Ad. Refunds will be issued for annual or bundled Ad Packages, subject to pro-rata usage and a 15% cancellation fee.

8. 3rd Party Ad Networks and Affiliate Ads: I also make use of 3rd Party Ad Networks like Google Adsense, Bing Ads, Admarula.com, Affiliate.co.za and others like them. These 3rd party networks also make use of tracking cookies for statistical purposes and while browsing this site, non-personal data about your browsing may be captured to help improve the ads served to you. Please read my Privacy Policy for more information about what data is collected and how it is used.

9. Affiliate Marketing Ads/Banners: I also place referral and/or affiliate marketing ads or links across this website to further monetize this website. Please refer to my Affiliate Disclaimer for more information…

Conclusion

I am not trying to trick you into buying things you don’t want or need, I’m just making you aware of the dynamic you are already involved in, so that you can consciously take part. Advertising has been rightly and wrongly demonised over the years, but it’s part of life and helps in keeping the internet free and helps businesses and individuals make money.

My sole intention is to help businesses by exposing relevant products and service to you, our site visitor, while at the same time helping you find what you are interested in. While this is a personal website, it is also a business and by providing this advertising service it aids me in funding my business too. Simply put, advertising is one of the ‘vehicles’ I use to make money too.

* To help me find any offending ad, please send me a screenshot of the ad, the URL you saw it on and what country you are in if possible. So you know, we will also likely tell off the advertiser, as all of our advertising partners know our rules
